Serene Rustic Australian Home

I’m multitasking at the moment, while I’m making this blogpost I’m also watching the Australian Open (Go Federer!), so to keep in the Austrialian spirit I will share an Australian home today. This Northcote home belongs to interior designer, stylist and retailer Amanda Henderson-Marks and her family. There’s a nice contrast in this home, while the living room and kitchen are very light they painted the bedroom a dramatic dark blue. Amanda herself describes her home as ‘chalky and neat rustic’ which is definitely true. I love how they were able to create such a warm living space with such neutral colours thanks to the different textiles, vintage finds and artwork. I am really loving blue lately and the bedroom in this home is such an inspiration. That little sitting space with the layered rugs is absolutely wondeful. Plus as a Dutchwoman I love the print of the Johannes Vermeer painting ‘Girl with a Pearl Earring’ which fits perfectly in this space.
