La Granja Ibiza is a rustic members-only retreat situated on a farmstead in the Ibizan countryside. The old stone farmhouse is converted by designer Armin Fischer into a beautiful serene design hotel. The hotel only has 9 guest rooms and a freestanding guesthouse that has a private garden overlooking the farm. Each room has a luxury bed and materials of burn wood, burshed and oiled ash, wood, stone and slate. A stay in La Granja Ibiza feels like going back to basics with the beautiful dark colored walls and natural materials but with all the necessary comforts of a present hotel stay.
“The art of imperfect beauty is accepting the natural cycle of growth and decay. Using flawed and scarred materials and surfaces we’ve alluded to the enigma of time passing.” – Armin Fischer, Dreimeta Design Studio
During your stay a La Granja Ibiza you can participate in ‘rituals’ led and organized by Friends of a Farmer. Friends of a Farmer is a creative community that focusses on the cultivation of art, sustainable living and farming. The rituals at La Granja Ibiza include music experiences, yoga, meditation and slow-food workshops.
The hotel has its own farm and many fruits and vegetables make their way to the kitchen of La Granja. Here, the Mediterranean diet isn’t just a culinary mode but a lifestyle. Dinners are being held at the large farm-style dining table where its all about sharing the food and having a social culinary experience.

La Granja Ibiza is part of Design Hotels, a booking company that represents 270 boutique hotels all over the world. It truly is a beautiful laid-back retreat which is perhaps not something you would associate with a party island as Ibiza. It reminds me a bit of Casa Cook at Rhodes which also has a luxurious laid-back bohemian vibe.
