Airbnb is a great source to find interesting and original places to stay for your next travel destination. I have posted quite a few cool places and this London pub is definitely one of them. This former Victorian pub from the 1850s is carefully restored to a comfortable and cozy home. The owners restored the apartment with a careful eye to the history of the building. The shutters are original and the kitchen resembles a bar that you can find in an old pub. The apartment is decorated with antique items and furniture from the owner’s own brand Loaf. The historic feeling is enhanced with the charcoal, blue-greys and soft white paint choices which also gives the place a calming atmosphere. This is such a beautiful apartment and you can feel the love towards to old Victorian building, don’t you agree?
Tiny homes are the best homes. Casa Tiny is a beautiful tiny home in Mexico that you can rent on Airbnb. The home has a private pool, a private beach and a lovely hammock to make your stay the most relaxing ever. The home is made of concrete but the wooden shutters give the place some warmth. How nice would it be to wake up the in the bedroom with views over the Mexican countryside?
This small airbnb surf shack in Australia was branded as one of the coolest places on ‘The Island’ and looking at the pictures I must agree. The surf shack was recently renovated by a stylist and is filled with pieces that have a story and a meaning to her. The laid back beach vibe in this home suits the surroundings of the surf shack and the black wooden wall in the living room gives the space that cool vibe. If the interior hasn’t won you over already than the fact that you can see the ocean from the deck must do the trick! An cool airbnb with ocean views, are you going to take a trip to Australia?
I have posted about the projects of Tara and Percy of Jersey Ice Cream Co many times before on my blogs simply because their work is absolutely stunning. Today I will give you a brand new project by Jersey Ice Cream Co that they have just finished renovating and the best thing about this home is that you can actually stay in it! This Rittenhouse apartment already had a good foundation with high ceilings, lots of old charm and a private roof terrace but after Tara and Percy worked their magic it has become a beautiful serene space. The apartment might be small but with the neutral colorscheme and clever design such as the benches against the wall they made it a beautiful serene and functional space, it’s the ideal airbnb stay to unwind after a long day in Philadelphia.
When you go travelling you always want to see as much of the local culture as you possibly can. Now of course you can book a room in a large international hotel but perhaps the best way to really get to know the local culture is to rent a traditional home on Airbnb like this Moroccan riad in Marrakesh. A riad is a traditional Moroccan home with an interior garden or courtyard which gives the inhabitants a lot of privacy and shelter for the Moroccan weather. This riad in Marrakesh is beautifully decorated in Moroccan style with serene neutral colored bedrooms and lovely touches of pink in the living spaces. Next to the interior garden this riad also has a roof terrace where you can relax or have breakfast/dinner in the warm Moroccan sun. This Moroccan riad looks so peaceful and I’m sure it is an amazing place to stay for a relaxing holiday in Marrakesh.
I think I’m in love.. with a kitchen! This beautiful Danish home is located close to Copenhagen and only 500 meters from the beach. The beautiful large windows make the home feel very light despite the dark colours that were used to decorated this house. The focal point in the living space is the amazing large flooding dark wooden kitchen which includes a nice breakfast bar. So beautiful in combination with the dark walls and the grey floor. Adjoing the living room is the light master bedroom and in total the home can house 12 people! Outdoors there is a great terrace and of course an outdoor kitchen, but the most amazing thing about this home? You can rent it on Airbnb! Fancy a trip to Denmark?
In the Swedish countryside of Skåne stands this lovely new bed and breakfast Fröken Hjorts. It took a year for Swedish interior stylist Marie Olsson Nylander and her husband to renovate this former farm into this raw bed and breakfast where concrete and wood are the main materials. The wonderful large windows give you a great view over the Swedish countryside and of course, like Scandinavian tradition, outside there is a sauna to warm you up. You can rent this beautiful designed Fröken Hjorts B&B on Airbnb.
I am dreaming myself in sunny Australia at the moment while looking at these stunning pictures of Haveli House by Louise Roche. Haveli House is a bohemian Indian and Indonesian inspired luxe cottage in Byron Bay, Australia and is ideal for a relaxing and quiet getaway. This stunning cottage is decorated with items from the owner’s own shop, so if you feel inspired by looking at these pictures you know where you can get the items and create your own relaxing bohemian space. But even better is hopping on a plane to Australia and rent this fabulous bohemian Byron Bay cottage on Airbnb.
In Berlin with views over the Spree river stands this former factory from 1880 that is turned into a residential property that you can rent on Airbnb. The loft is a combination of modern features such as the new bathroom and kitchen, and original raw elements such as the exposed brick walls and the concrete ceiling. The owner of the industrial loft is an art gallery owner so it comes as no surprise that the loft is filled with a great art collection that is always changing. The loft is sparsely furnished with vintage items and the bedroom and bathroom area is seperated from the rest of the loft with two thin walls to create some privacy in such a large space. This loft is truly a wonderful stay for art and design lovers.
Airbnb isn’t just a great way to find a place to stay for your next travel destination, but also (if you’re like me) to find amazing interior inspiration. I have posted unique stays in France, Amsterdam and Van Gogh’s Bedroom and this time I am traveling to Barcelona. I have never been to Barcelona but when I’m looking at this apartment in a palace I might consider a trip to southern Europe. The apartment is situated in a Gothic neighbourhood in the middle of the city surrounded by the wonderful historic sights that Barcelona has to offer for example La Sagrada Familia (a church designed by Antoni Gaudí), the Picasso Museum and the Museum of Contemporary Art. The apartment in the palace, belonging to an old Catalan nobility, still has its original features such as high ceilings, 18th-century frescos and mosaic floors. The apartment is decorated in a mixture of old and new and I think it has a bit of an bohemian feel to it which I love and I especially love the big wooden windows/doors of almost 6 meters high. There is an open bathroom situated in the bedroom with the cool black walls and the platform bed is an excellent way to create storage space underneath. What about you, fancy a trip to a palace in Barcelona?
