Historic Charm in Hotel ‘1898 The Post’ in Ghent

Gravity Home: Hotel 1898 The Post in Ghent

If you’re a lover of historic architecture and old school charm than this new hotel in Ghent is exactly what you’re looking for. Located in a former 19th-century post office hotel 1898 The Post is like stepping back in time with of course a modern touch. All 38 rooms have stunning historic details, antique furniture and moody dark green wall colours. The entire hotel has this wonderful atmosphere of the past but of course without being stuffy. I think I’m in love and when you’re visiting the Belgian town of Ghent I would definitely considering a stay at hotel 1898 The Post.

Hotel Sanders in Copenhagen

Gravity Home: Hotel Sanders in Copenhagen

Copenhagen is one of the most stylish city’s I’ve ever been to. Design is very important which you can see on the street and also in the amazing selection of hotels. New (boutique) hotels are popping up everywhere. (When I was in Copenhagen in may I stayed at the recently opened and beautiful Hotel Danmark which is part of Brøchner Hotels). This fall, Hotel Sanders will open up in Copenhagen’s historic centre and judging by these first pictures it’s gonna look amazing! The design of Hotel Sanders is in the hands of Pernille Lind and Richy Almond and I can’t wait to see the final result. Hotel Sanders opens in november and you can already book your stay.

Casa Cook Kos: A Relaxing Beachside Hotel on a Greek Island

Gravity Home: Casa Cook Kos

Imagine this: a beachside hotel, deep blue sea and windswept dunes, natural bohemian style hotel rooms, a laid-back Mediterranean atmosphere and a private relaxing space with a pool. Sounds perfect doesn’t it? In Casa Cook Kos all of this is reality. You might remember Casa Cook from their beautiful hotel in Rhodes and now they’ve opened up a new location in Kos, Greece. The cubic minimalistic buildings are inspired by Greek architecture and the beach club is inspired by the Greek parea (a gathering of friends). Casa Cook Kos is the perfect place for a holiday where you can meet up with travellers from all over the world and leave the hectic world behind you and just relax..

A Gorgeous Loft in London (And You Can Rent It!)

Gravity Home: Spectacular London Loft

This loft apartment in Clerkenwell, London used to be a factory where barrels were made. Now it has been turned into a stunning apartment that we can not only look at but you can stay in it as well! The (triple height!) living space has a beautiful exposed brick wall, a marble kitchen and a real eye catching dining space. Look at those indoor plants, isn’t it amazing? The apartment has 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms, all beautifully designed. On top of that there is – of course – also a roof terrace, what more can you possibly want?

Located in an 18th-century palace on a square in Lisbon’s old cultural quarter lies Santa Clara 1728. In this palace you’ll find 6 luxurious suites that will make your stay in Lisbon unforgettable. The owners of the palace, Joao and Andrea Rodrigues, also live in the palace with their children so it’s more like staying with friends than an actual hotel. They renovated this beautiful property with friend and architect Manuel Aires Mateus and showed the utmost respect to the building’s architecture. Combine the building’s amazing architecture with minimalistic design and you’ll get one of the most beautiful hotels I’ve ever seen.

Hotel Panache: A New Design Hotel in Paris

Gravity Home: Hotel Panache Paris

Hotel Panache is a new  design hotel in Paris designed by Dorothée Meilichzon of Chzon. The hotel is located in the Ninth Arrondissement in a 19th-century building with an unusual shape. There are almost no right angles in this building which Dorethée played with very nicely. Dorothée used many geometric shapes in the design of Hotel Panache which gives the hotel a playful and interesting touch. You’ll never know what you’re gonna get. Every room has a unique style with different wallpaper and a Thonet-inspired bedframe. I love the design of this hotel and if you’re going to Paris it will be quite worth the visit. Hotel Panache is quite affordable for a design hotel (rooms that at €130) so it won’t bankrupt you either 😉

Lokal Hotel in Philadelphia Designed by Jersey Ice Cream Co

Gravity Home: Lokal Hotel Philadelphia

Lokal Hotel in Philadelphia is a project by husband and wife – Chad and Courtney Ludeman. As travel ánd design lovers they found that hotel rooms are often the same old boring rooms. To make a change in hotel stays they decided to open Lokal Hotel. The interior of the hotel is mainly designed by one of my favourite designers Percy & Tara from Jersey Ice Cream Co. The loft-like rooms are ideal for short ánd a long-term stay. They have a seperate bedroom, a living room and a stunning (blue) kitchen, so they are more apartments than just a simple hotel room. The rooms are styled with vintage and modern design and the industrial features of the building remain visible (yay!).  The hotel will open in april & you can book your stay now on the website of Lokal Hotel.

Gravity Home: Bed & Breakfast Bea Mombaers

This bed & breakfast in the Belgian town of Knokke might be the most stylish B&B I’ve ever seen. The house is owned and designed by Bea Mombaers. As you can see Bea has a true passion for vintage design so in this B&B you will find items ranging from the 50s to the 80s that she finds during her world travels. It’s a wonderful combination of design that is styled without making it feel strange or crazy. Due to the passion for design her Bed & Breakfast is ever changing.
